Premaxillary Segment
واژه ی Segment به معنای قطعه می باشد و واژه ی Premaxillary از پیشوندPre به معنای قبل یا جلو، و لغتMaxillary به معنای مرتبط با ماگزیلا ساخته شده است. پره ماگزیلاری به معنای مربوط به پره ماگزیلا می باشد. پره ماگزیلا به قسمت قدامی ماگزیلا گفته می شود. عدم اتصال این قطعه با زوائد طرفی ماگزیلاری در دوران جنینی منجر به ایجاد شکاف لب و آلوئول می شود. این قطعه حاوی دندان های ثنایا ی ماگزیلا می باشد.
